In 2016 more than 900 volunteers collected five tons of litter and close to 400 pounds of recycling from our shoreline, lagoon, and San Mateo Creek. We are hoping for even more volunteers in 2017 at the 33rd Bayfront Cleanup! The highlight of the event each year is the “Catch of the Day” where volunteers get to show off their most “unusual” finds. Be prepared to get dirty, have a good time, and help the environment! The nature of the event makes it most appropriate for children 10 years of age and older. Also, be sure to wear old clothes and sturdy shoes (no flip flops or open-toed shoes!). If you really like an adventure, wear old water resistant boots and look for “unusual litter” in the “Tidelands Mud Crawl”! Location: Ryder Park, 1801 J. Hart Clinton Dr, San Mateo Date: Saturday, September 16, 2017 Registration: 7:30am – 9:00am Cleanup: 8:00am – Noon
