San Mateo Station @ 4:30-6:30 PM
Come join us at the San Mateo Downtown Transit Station for the arrival of the glittering Caltrain Holiday Train, including fun holiday entertainment!
In anticipation of the train’s 6pm arrival, students from CORE Taekwondo will perform a martial arts demonstration, choreographed to festive holiday music. Plus, starting at 4:30 PM, North B St. merchants will welcome visitors with a Posada (a Christmas festival originating in Latin America).
The Caltrain Holiday Train is expected to arrive in San Mateo at 6:00pm. During their 20-minute station stop, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty and the gang will get off the train to greet children and spread holiday cheer.
Our stop has proven to be one of the largest turnouts, with at least 500 people last year! Come enjoy the holiday season with your community and enjoy this Bay Area tradition.
On December 9th and 10th more than 500 dancers will converge for the Holiday Festival of Dance in San Mateo. This annual event is co-sponsored by the San Mateo Parks & Recreation Dept. and the San Mateo Dance Association.
Through the magic of theatre, dance and a lot of hard work by many volunteers, the San Mateo High School Gym is transformed into a Holiday theatrical production complete with lighting, music, costumes and choreography.
This year’s presentation is the 45th Anniversary of this magical production and will feature dancers currently within the City’s Youth and Adult Dance Programs, as well as city employees who perform in our famous Reindeer and the City Dancer’s dance.
Tickets will be available for public purchase starting November 20th.
