Movie: Do the Math

April 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

“Do the Math” chronicles one of America’s leading environmentalists, Bill McKibben, in a David-vs-Goliath battle to fight the fossil fuel industry and change the terrifying math of the climate crisis. According to film, we only need to understand three numbers to know why action is required to address climate change – 2 degrees Celsius, 565 gigatons and 2,795 gigatons. Attend the event to understand the implications of these three numbers and to participate in a facilitated discussion to learn about the individual actions you can take to help address climate change. This event is being sponsored by the San Mateo Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby and the San Mateo Public Library. Doors will open at 6:00 with light snacks and beverages. The movie begins at 6:30 with the discussion to follow.
